This is like my 3rd practice sketch ... I really struggle with this character, she is deliberately pandering to people's expectations of what a Chinese-American would look like and is an aggressively strong girl but I still want to emphasize the girl part without overdoing it ...

It's a weird line to tread. Character design is difficult and hard and it has nothing to do with putting the tablet to PC or pencil to paper.

Fan artists have it easy.

I think you're doing a relatively good job.

I don't know it's the perspective or what, though, but the left side (our right) of her upper lip looks a bit off.
