Practice for gift art. No matter how skilled I get, I cannot draw an OC raw without trying it out a few times first to make sure I can get it decent.

I used a mechanical pencil as well.

*Do pardon one for interveening* I don't think it's that big of an issue putting a y in the nickname, lots of peeps mis-spell stuff

I for one think she did a stellar job of replicating your fursona :headbang:, you should be immensly thankful to her for such a fantastic drawing for you :D

I think this rendition came out rather well. I definitely like the style and pencil used for it.

^_^

Thanks for the share.

Why, thank you. I hope to do more general figure studies in addition to other artist, so I don't slip in technique.

I almost bought an external webcam for that, but it was like $70 and I was like ... um ... maybe I can wait for my paycheck first ...

I can use commissions to pay for stuff but I still have to finish them. I try not to ask for advances so I don't trap myself into over-committing to art.

Understandable, as doing so many would definitely take the fun out of it. With some customers, though (especially friends), I'm sure they'd give an advance and can wait for a while.

Speaking for myself, I'm pretty patient for art stuff. I once waited about two years for an art trade to get completed (my half was done in a week). Especially if I know that I'm helping a friend, I don't mind doing what I'm able.
