As usual, my proportions are whack. Note the length of the front knee. HURK. This was not helped by lens distortion! The photographers really should align the figures with the proper horizon line, anything else is very poor reference.
I feel sorry for beginner artists who would not have the innate knowledge of how it "should" look to correct for that.
Yes, I agree; when using models to help with anatomy, it helps if everything is lined up correctly, and if they don't, they aren't doing their job well.
If anything, the pose as a whole is what made me wonder. Is this him rising from bed? Maybe in the shower? I was trying to figure out the general positioning before noting anything with the knees.
Still, all that aside, I think this came out very well!
Though it's disproportionate all over the place, it's not by much. The right hand and head stuck out to me personally, but for 20 minutes, that's pretty good.
