Haha ... oh, dear, it would look much better in 3d, wouldn't it? I spent so long in Flash, trying to get the curves right, too ... but when I finished, it looked like crap ...

Not as crappy as the first 3d spiderbots, but still ... kinda bad ...

The legs look a little weird, cause it's like *wiggle wiggle wiggle*

I only forgot one thing; the little holes on the side for the speaker grill. But it's ok ... maybe the listening portion of it is on the bottom. And, yes, it is a small nuclear device as well as a classic listening probe. Basically, an instant kill switch if something goes terribly wrong.

Hmmm... Wonder who's spider would win? You're or mine? Though the nuclear option provides a compelling trump card....

Thanks .... it was just something totally random, I made it up XD. Laura is asking everyone if they have a bug problem and she rambles on about cockroaches on space stations and spaceships, and they're like, WTF?

Then she tracks down ones of the little nukes ...

Hmm, I'm thinking about asking the person who made the hovercar, autarch, if he would be interested in modeling this for me.

If not, I'll have to learn to use a 3d modeling program myself ;_; and learn to be sort of good at it.

That's one of teh cool things about digital art, you don't have to be an expert at it to produce a decent picture ;) But it helps to produce an awe-inspiring one...

Ahhh ... you know, what I really desire to do is uber-detailed background art like the kind you see on scifi novels. I want to be able to sink thirteen hours into a digital painting ....

Yeah, he's incredible. When I think of background CG to aspire to, I think of his work.

He probably does cover art, I bet, with that level of talent. I am almost totally limited to drawing living people :(

I can do a background, but mostly simple ones ... with intuitive shading ... unless I work from a photograph, and sci-fi often defies basic reference like that.
