[/edit] For people coming here today, remember where I came from, it was a long hard path. Love is not a victory march... not a bit. It's one long sad hallelujah. [link]
Mixed media painting with Sai, Photoshop and ArtRage. I wasn't feeling the animations again so I decided to paint something awesome instead.
the color looks a bit dark and it gives her this cool look that i don't remember seeing in any other pic, its original and i like it. that expression on her face is clearly serous something worth mentioning taken that rainbow dash is often seen as headstrong and arrogant, but in this picture she looks cool and thoughtful, and its made clear so i don't have to figure it out, it just comes to me. the digital art looks like a painting and once again its made perfect its looks old and acoustic like it was painted in the hand of a VERY skilled artist. rainbow dash infects me with her thoughtfulness and it makes me think 20% more. good job to the very end
This is a fantastic art piece which shows not only the ability to go beyond the typical style of MLP but also try to bring in elements of abstraction and surrealism, this being especially true in the negative space of the piece. Another great aspect of this is how it is composed, with Rainbow Dash’s hair and eye being the main color which the viewer focuses on, this helps for it leads the viewer throughout the different aspects of the digital painting; Such as the wings, shading around the neck and forehead, and the thick textures along her face and the alula of her wing.
Another thing I want to congratulate you on is how you were able to make this seem like a painting that was done in acrylics or some other medium; I really love the brush strokes all over Rainbow Dash, especially around her neck and in her hair. I also feel that the negative space is also what really impresses me, for I see clouds but the way it is formed seems more like chaos.
Again I am really impressed; Rainbow Dash seems to be looking toward her destiny while in storm of confusion and conflict. With scars around her body showing she is going through a difficult journey.
It’s a great piece! The only thing I can criticize (if you don’t mind me saying so) is that her snout seems to be out of proportion with her eye, I think that from the perspective she is looking that we should be able to see both eyes or at least part of her right eye.
Keep up the fantastic art, always a pleasure to see you upload something!
